to God and family, St. Joseph Manor continues to be the
love of my retirement life."
I
am a resident of St. Joseph Manor in Thibodaux, Louisiana.
Before moving three years ago to this retirement community,
my family life, teaching, and involvements were in Golden
Meadow, Louisiana. I am also a retired classroom teacher
and a widow with four children. For thirty years I taught
in Golden Meadow with a love for my profession and for
young people eager to learn. Here at St. Joseph Manor,
I have never had it so good. I put the struggles and inhibitions
of an earlier life behind me and bask in the joys of a
caring, prayerful community. I get back at age (77) for
robbing me of memory by sometimes remembering what I choose
to remember --- mostly in fun with my children. I have
enjoyed the role of bit player in the lives of my married
children and their families.
